"The Joshua Tree" tour - november 8, 1987 - Denver - CO - McNichols Arena After a discussion with Phil Joanou, the second night's performance is much more "crowd friendly"--the cameras are much less obtrusive. The show is charged--in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland 11 people are killed in an IRA bombing of a Remembrance Day Parade. Bono lets his anger show during "Sunday Bloody Sunday": "Let me tell you something, I've had enough of Irish Americans who haven't been back to their country in 20 or 30 years who come up to me and talk about the resistenace...the revolution back home...and the glory of dying for the revolution. F--- THE REVOLUTION! They don't talk about the glory of killing for the revolution, what's the glory in taking a man from his bed and gunning him down in front of his wife and children? Where's the glory in that? Where's the glory in bombing a Remembrance Day parade of old age pensioners, their medals taken out and polished up for the day? Where's the glory in that? To leave them dying or crippled for life or under the rubble of a revolution that the majority of the people in my country don't want. NO MORE!" The feeling of the show changes towards the end of the show--the band appear a bit more relaxed. Bono's anger seems to have subsided during "Spanish Eyes" Bono spots a woman in the crowd with a tambourine. "Who is this lady? Bring her to me!" he says to security. At the end of the song, the woman hands Bono the tambourine and returns to her seat as Bono starts singing the chorus, "Whey-hey-hey...baby hang on..." Adam joins in with the bass, and Bono jokes, "I was just getting it together with the folks, Adam. I thought I was pretty good." Bono is much more relaxed and plays with the crowd, "At the moment we're really stuck for a place to go afterwards tongith...has anyone got a house for us?" The crowd roar their response, and Bono's reply of "I didn't quite catch your name.." is muffled. "Helter Skelter", "Silver And Gold", and "Pride(In the Name of Love)", "Exit", "In God's Country", and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" appear in the movie "Rattle & Hum".

"LoveTown" tour - november 8, 1989 - U2 perform in Wellington, New Zealand at Athletic Park. Prior to U2 taking the stage, U2's production manager Steve Iredale comes on stage and tells the crowd that U2 will not come on until the crowd take a step back. Throughout the night Bono has to ask the crowd to calm down, and asks them to look after each other. After "Pride(In the Name of Love)", the band leave the stage and Bono announces, "Sorry, I have to take a piss". Support is B.B. King.

Sebastian Clayton about some old posts - November 8, 2005 - U2.com director visits Net Nanny - Getting ready for last night's Mystery Train on RTE 1 radio. About U2's official site, U2.com: it turned out to be Sebastian Clayton, director of U2.com, whose first revelation will have many old school online fans checking their e-mail archives thinking 'OMG, did I really post that?': 'There was a ginormous U2 community, online before we ever launched an official site. There was a mailing list called 'Wire', they used to e-mail each other all the time, just a ginormous mailing list where all the fans used to keep in touch with each other. The band and I joined up to it just to see what was going on and how it worked and what happened and what people were saying. And once we saw that there were so many people involved and inspired by this mailing list we decided that it would be a good idea to put together an official site for them.' Seb also reveals a lot of people have been asking the site about blogging, 'so we're looking into that.'
