Tickets for the concert are 50 pounds, and the show raises more than 40,000 pounds for "People In Need", a charity set up to help the homeless. More than 5000 people gather outside the cinema to hear the band perform a short four song set. The impromptu performace becomes U2's celebration of the 1000th birthday of Dublin City. AFter the movie's premier U2 return to the street to perform "Angel of Harlem" and "Stand By Me"--Bono heavily improvises the lyrics to both songs, and is accompanied by the two or three thousand fans who have remained. In the next week, U2 will attend another three premieres -- Madrid, London, and Los Angeles.

"LoveTown" tour - october 27, 1989 - U2 perform in Adelaide, Australia at Memorial Drive Stadium. The illness that struck Bono, and that forced the band to reschedule the October 22, 24, and 25, 1989 dates in Sydney has disappeared. These Adelaide shows are outdoor shows--U2's first in Australia. During the soundchecks that are performed at the Stadium, fans watch from the surrounding hills and Bono and The Edge offer "Hello"'s and other greetings. The soundchecks are planned so that the band can play toward the watching audience. During the concert, hundreds of fans sit in the hills and watch the show. While singing to "I Will Follow", Bono falls off the stage and is barely saved from serious injury by security who manage to catch him. The guest guitarist on "People Get Ready" plays several solos, and finally Bono shouts, "Don't go too far, allright!".

"ZOOTV - Outside Broadcast" tour - october 27, 1992 - U2 perform in El Paso, Texas at the Sun Bowl. The show is aired via satellite to Sherry in Huntington Beach, California. His reply is that he's recently discovered apple pie and that the band will break up and he will move to Las Vegas to start a solo act. "When I'm going through my fat Bono period, will you come and see me?" Bono talks of going south of the border and into Mexico and what he experienced: "We could see all the people standing at the border, could see their plight, could see their looks on their faces as they wanted to come into America - this supposed land of milk and honey. And as an Irishman, I understood that feeling, that wish to leave your home and to go far away to make something of yourself. Well...that America turns out to be over the next ten years we'll wait and see. But I hope you'll find what you're looking for..." Support is B.P. Fallon, "The Sugarcubes", and "Public Enemy".
