After "The Fly", Bono 'stops' in at the winner's house. "Hey, who's the dude with the ponytail?" Bono asks. "I'm John," the winner explains. The conversation isn't particularily interesting and John reveals that he works in an female underwear textile factory in Nottinghamshire, England. John and his friends are shown partying and drinking in his living room throughout the night, and later in the show offers to send John and his girlfriend to the US to see U2 perform there in the fall. "One" is dedicated to "a great friend and one of the greatest photographers ever -- this is for Anton Corbijn." The crowd react wildly upon recognizing "Dancing Queen", and become even louder when Bono introduces Bjorn(Ulaeus) and Benny(Andersson) from Abba. Bono hugs both of them, and does a "Wayne's World" 'We're not worthy!' bow. The two Abba members walk off the stage and the crowd sing "Dancing Queen" for several minutes more. When U2 leave the stage, John from Nottinghamshire leads the crowd in the "Wave". Bono thanks the crowd for the three shows, and promises to return next summer. Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

Bono applauds G8 debt cancellation announcement - june 11, 2005. Led by UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and U.S. President George Bush, the G8 nations today announced an agreement to cancel more than $40 billion of African debt. The announcement comes less than a month before the G8 Summit in Scotland, when African aid is expected to be a major topic of conversation. Bono issues a statement after today's debt agreement which mirrors a message he's been talking about on the road with U2 during the Vertigo Tour: "The journey of equality took another step today, and broke free millions of people in some of the poorest countries from the bondage of immoral and unjust debts. The leadership of the jubilee campaigners is bearing fruit once more, we really owe those people, from church basements to national treasuries who have worked so long and so hard for this day. There's long nights ahead of us all to build up the speed and accelerating for a comprehensive debt-aid-trade deal for the poorest people in the poorest countries at the G8 Gleneagles."
