AUGUST 12: after this last concert in Dandelion Car Park, U2 record U2-3 / video confessional debuts-Lou Reed joins U2 during 'Satellite Of Love' / 'Born To Be Wild' during the 1st time in Poland / red shirt#2!

"Early Ireland" - august 12, 1979 - Dublin / Ireland - Dandelion Car Park. U2 play the last of the six Saturday afternoons. "Out of Control," "In Your Hand," Concentration Cramp," Shadows In Tall Trees," "Judith," and "The Fool". Dave Edge is a superlative guitarist and he'll improve so much, being so young, being so bright, so good. After the concert, U2 move across town to Windmill Lane where they are booked from 6 in the evening until midnight to work on some favorites -"Stories For Boys," "Boy/ Girl" and "Out Of Control." Edge, Larry and Adam are in the main studio, while an engineer plays jazz piano and the microphone's set up in the control room with Chas De Whaley.

"ZOOTV" tour - august 12, 1992. U2 perform in East Rutherford, New Jersey at Giants' Stadium. Over the two days' concerts, U2 perform in front of 109,000 people -- the first night's show sells out in 23 minutes, becoming Giants' Stadium's fastest sellout ever. The original date of August 11 is postponed by one day to leave more time to set up the stage and sound system. More flash is added to the new intro, before the lights dim, the screens flash "SYSTEM CHECK", and then "STAND BY FOR TRANSMISSION". Some of the press are in a small tower beside the stage that flash the words "PHOTO OPPORTUNITY" on an electric ribbon. The crowd roar as the screens flicker to life, each revealing ZooTV bars which evolve into the George Bush EBN footage. The band suffer from some opening night jitters, and the first few songs sound too tight. As in Manchester, England on June 19, 1992 at the Stop Sellafield show, Lou Reed makes an appearance during "Sattelite of Love". The "Video Confessional" makes its debut at this show -- it is a closet sized booth, where fans can film their confessions to a video camera -- the confessions are shown before the encore of the show. Support is B.P. Fallon, "Primus" and "Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy".

"ZOOTV - Zooropa" tour - august 12, 1993. U2 performs in London, England at Wembley Stadium.

"POPMart" tour - august 12, 1997 - Warsaw - Poland - Horse Track. U2 plays its first-ever show in Poland, at the Katowice Stadium in Warsaw. The concert is marred by poor crowd-control planning. Lines begin forming in the early afternoon and reach nearly a mile-long before the gates opened. Making the problem worse was the lack of entry gates, and an estimated 200 people are injured as the crowd pushes to get into the stadium. Many get in by climbing over fences, never having their tickets checked. The show is marked by a tribute to Polish Solidarity leader Lech Walesa during "New Year's Day," the song Bono wrote about Walesa's movement in the early 80s. Bono tells the crowd, "This is your song," and images of Walesa appear on the video screen to great applause. Edge´s karaoke this night is "Born To Be Wild".

"Elevation" tour - august 12, 2001 - Manchester, England - MEN Arena - Kelis. 'Could You Be Loved' snippet inserted at the end of Pride. Technical problems plague 'One', the band leave the stage and don't return as Herman Brood's 'My Way' plays to a darkened arena. Bono introduces the band: "We´re a band from Dublin...On the bass Adam Clayton, on the drums Larry Mullen Jnr, on guitar 17 years old, The Edge..." Edge wears red shirt #2(yellow).
