SEPTEMBER 15: Marquee Club / U2 and B.B. King press conference / Operator 2-Edge´s hat / 'Born To Be Wilde' / Turin city honors Bono / Bono talks poverty at Clinton event / The new front page of Music Rising´s website / The three possible songs to reopen Superdome / It's announced the U2 finished the sessions for 'The Saints Are Coming' and a new song with a 'mesmerizing chorus' (Window In The Skyes) / Bono and Ali in NYC!

"Boy" tour september 15, 1980. U2 perform in London, England at the Marquee Club. Support is "Vision Collision".

"The Unforgettable Fire" tour - september 15, 1984. U2 perform in Melbourne, Australia at the Sports And Entertainment Centre. A fifth concert is considered for September 19th, but never occurs.

"LoveTown" tour - september 15, 1989. U2 and B.B. King hold a press conference in Sydney, Australia at the Mercantile Hotel. Bono comments on B.B. King's singing style, "...he's the only guy I know that when he moves back from the microphone his voice gets louder. I feel like a little girl when I'm singing with him." He compliments B.B. again when asked about organizing the tour: "We just got the chance to have B.B. play with us so now we can learn from him. He comes from a generation of maybe six people of the order of B.B., and some of them are not around any more. I consider myself an apprentice around him. To actually have him on the road is an amazing thing." After the press conference, security attempt to quickly take the band back to their hotel. However, the members of the band and B.B. King talk to fans outside. Upon seeing the commotion, a local shopkeeper remarks, "You'd think it was 'The Beatles'".

"ZOOTV" tour - september 15, 1992. U2 perform in Chicago, Illinois at the World Music Amphitheater. On the first night, Bono invites two girls to dance with him during "Trying To Throw Your Arms Around The World". The two girls are a bit too wild and Bono motions The Edge to come over and help him. One of the girls grabs The Edge's hat, and it is clear by his reaction that he is not amused. Bono is knocked over by the two girls and lies on the catwalk as the two crawl over him and kiss his face. Bono's telephone calls to the White House continue during tonight's show in Chicago. Before hanging up, Bono tells "Operator Two" that he thinks he loves her. Support is B.P. Fallon, "Big Audio Dynamite II" and "Public Enemy".

"POPMart" tour - september 15, 1997. U2 perform in Montpellier, France. Espace Grammont. Edge´s karake this night is 'Born To Be Wild'.

'Turin City honors Bono' - september 15, 2003. The Turin, Italy, City Council honors Bono with a decree giving him Honorary Citizenship. Unfortunately, Bono cannot make it to Turin to accept the recognition -- and won't do so until they meet up in Milan in 2005 prior to a U2 concert there.

Bono talks poverty at Clinton event - september 15, 2005 - On an off-day from the Vertigo Tour, Bono participates in the inaugural Clinton Global Initiative, a 3-day forum in New York. The event brings together leaders to discuss poverty and other world issues.

The three possible songs to reopen Superdome - September 15, 2006 - The plan is for Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends," a track from the band's hit 2004 CD, "American Idiot." Then Green Day and U2 will jointly render the 1978 post-punk rave-up "The Saints Are Coming," followed by U2's "Beautiful Day."

It's announced the U2 finished the sessions for 'The Saints Are Coming' and a new song with a 'mesmerizing chorus' (Window In The Skyes) - September 15, 2006 - U2 have already recorded their parts for "The Saints Are Coming," and Green Day are in the middle of their work for the track. ... In an online diary on the band's official website, one new track was said to be "a U2 classic with an instant hook and a mesmerizing chorus."
