'11 O´Clock Tick Tock" tour - july 28, 1980. U2 end the "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" Tour in Dublin, Ireland at the Dublin Festival/Dalymount Festival. Other acts of note are "The Police" and "The Squeeze".

"U2 shoots new video for 'Stuck'" - july 28, 2001. While in Berlin for an Elevation Tour concert, the band shoots part of a new video for "Stuck In a Moment You Can't Get Out Of." The song is soon to be released in the U.S. (It had been released elsewhere in the world earlier in the year.)


U2 arriving in Sweden - July 28, 2005 - After landing at Landvetter airport at 00:50, U2 had a police escort (a caravan of 15 cars, although another papers says it was 3 mini vans) to the hotel, then went straight to a local pub called 'the Dubliners'....Swedish fans plan a 'white wave' during the show. Bono about IRA says ceasing all armed activity in N.Ireland - July 28, 2005 - Outside Sjömagasinet restaurant in Gothenburg today a journalist showed Bono a photocopy of the news (The Irish Republican Army formally ended its 30-year armed campaign against British rule in Northern Ireland on Thursday, in a potentially historic move that could take the gun out of Northern Irish politics). After a long moment of reflection Bono commented: 'This requires great courage and compromise. This has been a long struggle and many people have suffered great losses. Turlington's Irish nickname - July 28, 2006 - Supermodel CHRISTY TURLINGTON has been given the Irish nickname NUALA by close friend U2 frontman BONO. The 37-year-old covergirl is married to Irish-American actor ED BURNS and makes regular trips to the European country to visit long term pal Bono, who gave her away at her wedding three years ago (03). ... Burns says, "In Ireland, our friends over there call her Nuala, short for FIONNUALA. So when FINN came along we really named him after Fionnuala, or Christy."
