"The Joshua Tree" tour - july 29, 1987. U2 perform in Glasgow, Scotland at the Scottish Exhibition Centre. During the first night's show, U2 are notified on stage that their single, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" has gone to number one in the US. The single marks U2's second number one from the "Joshua Tree", the first having been "With Or Without You" three months earlier. "Lucille" is played again, and Bono explains the song is named after B.B. King's guitar. Support on the first night is "Hoodoo Gurus."

"ZOOTV - Zooropa" tour - july 29, 1993. U2 perform in Oslo, Norway at Valle Hovin Stadion.

"POPMart" tour - july 29, 1997. U2 perform Leipzig, Germany. Edge´s karaoke this night is 'Daydream Believer'.

"Elevation" tour - july 29, 2001 / Berlin, Germany - Waldbuehne - Michael Mittermeier. At the 2nd outdoor show, the stage is changed to fit the amphitheater. The top of the heart is in front of the band, not circling behind it. Bono brings a girl on stage during 'In a Little While.' Edge wears red shirt #3, this night.

53rd 'VERTIGO' show july 29, 2005 - Gothenburg,Sweden- Ullevi Stadium - The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Razorlight - 'Billy Boola' during 'The Fly' / 'Party Girl (Edge sung a verse) with champagne´s spray / no 'Yaweah' / 550th performance of 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' and the 500th of 'With Or Without You' - It rains during the show, prompting Bono to sing bits of 'I Can't Stand the Rain' and 'Rain.' He also adds a bit of 'Billy Boola' during The Fly. Bono changes the lyrics of I Will Follow in response to a preplanned 'white wave' display organized by the U2.se fan site. Party Girl is the penultimate song, and this is the first European gig without Yahweh in the set. **** 'A World in White is Underway' : More breathtaking action from the audience and a great show at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg tonight. The audience, just so you are not in total suspense, created a sea of white tonight, surprising the band as they arrived on stage. The band, just so as you are not in total suspense, surprised the audience with Party Girl, including traditional champagne bottle opening moment! **** White wave : ...the rain starts to come down on Ullevi stadium during 'One' and the place lookes amazing as more people than ever hold their cell phone aloft. The band follow up with 'Rain' and then leave the stage, as Bono tells the crowd: 'What an amazing night.' During With or Without you, Adam stamps his feet in the puddles of water on stage. The surprise of the night comes during The Fly, when Bono flings in a few bars of Billy Boola (in response to a challenge from a fan back at the hotel), only to be topped by none other than... a completely spontaneous Party Girl, during which Bono gets out a bottle of champagne and sprays the audience, like in the good old days. Yahweh is dropped from the set. U2.se's 'white wave' crowd participation plan was a big success. Bono even changed the lyrics to I Will Follow and apparently exclaimed: 'Oh my God, what have we here?' The crowd, reportedly 'laid back and polite' while queuing turned into a somewhat over excited mob in the front pit, but an awesome audience overall. **** 550th performance of 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' and the 500th of 'With Or Without You' : Today's show in Gothenburg was a wet one, but it also had surprises! Party Girl was played instead of Yahweh, an acoustic Rain after One, and a snippet of Billy Boola (a side project Bono performed with Gavin Friday for the In The Name Of The Father soundtrack) during The Fly. Tonight's show also had the 550th known performance of Sunday Bloody Sunday, and the 500th performance of With Or Without You." **** Edge sung : ...'Party Girl' (Edge sung 2nd. verse)... **** The girl who danced with Bono. 58.478 people. Stuart Morgan. Edge and Bono. Some photos on aftonblate and on Interference.

Spaced Out! July 29, 2007 - The crew of the Space Shuttle Discovery had a rock'n'roll wake-up call on their first morning in space - U2! At 10.39pm this morning, Discovery's bleary-eyed astronauts awoke to the sound of 'Vertigo' blasting through their space pod. It was reportedly a request by Pilot Jim Kelly. Well, as the song says, 'Turn it up loud, captain!' (As far as we know this is the first time U2 has been played in space. Unless you know different...)
