"The Unforgettable Fire" tour - october 23, 1984 - U2 perform in Nantes, France at Saint Herblain Hospatlier. "MLK" is put back into the set list, and is played after "Wire". Still, the crowd doesn't seem overly responsive to the song. In a Melody Maker interview, Adam Clayton is asked about touring: "There's an awful lot of people all around the world that want to see us, and why should we just end up playing for London and New York who see everyone who comes through? I like to be able to tour in other places. It's not always fun, it's not always together, but you have to accept that as part of the problems of going to these places." Support is "Big Audio Dynamite".

"The Joshua Tree" tour - october 23, 1987 - U2 perform in Lexington, Kentucky at the Rupp Arena. During "Pride(In the Name of Love)" Bono vocalizes his feelings about scalpers, "If there's any scalpers in this building, they are NOT welcome. We decide what a U2 concert is worth!" "40" is not performed on this night, and the show ends with "With Or Without You" with Bono singing 'how long to sing this song' a couple of time at the end of the song. Support is "The BoDeans".

"Joshua tree has fallen over in California desert" - october 23, 2000 - U2 fans confirm a rumor thathad started earlier in the month -- the Joshua tree depicted on The Joshua Tree album has fallen over. The tree had become a landmark of sorts for U2 fans over the years, many of whom spent days searching through the California desert for the tree's location.Those who discovered it managed to keep the location secret in an attempt to make sure the casual fan, or U2 basher, didn't find the tree and try to damage it in some way.

According to Apple, the program has raised more than $5.2 billion to donate to more than 363 programs in 131 countries.
