"The Unforgettable Fire" tour - october 25, 1984 - U2 perform in Paris, France at Espace Ballard. U2 perform in a circus tent, orignally set up for the movie "Diva". The weather outside is humid with heavy rains. The tent leaks in several areas, and U2's equipment is covered in plastic during the show. Edge´s guitars are out of tune while a fragile song like 'The Unforgettable Fire' comes to nothing due to malfunctioning keyboards. "40" is performed quickly as Bono is warned that the PA system may short out because it has become so wet. Support is "The Alarm".

"The Joshua Tree" tour - October 25 1987 U2 perform in St. Louis, Missouri, at the St. Louis Arena. On this night, the St. Louis Cardinals play against the Minnesota Twins in the World Series. "Elevation tour" - october 25, 2001 - New York / NY - Madison Square Garden - During 'Stay,' Bono wears a FDNY cap given to him by a fan. During the encore, he wears an FDNY t-shirt. The lyrics of several songs continue to be altered in tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks. Bono also sings a short bit of 'Everybody Hurts' during 'Bad.' The same MLK video from the previous night is played again during 'Pride.' - '...The concert often verged on becoming a religious ceremony, with the Edge's distinctive chiming guitar never sounding more celestial. For secular baby boomers like me, raised on the idea that music can save your soul, emotionally charged shows like this have provided the only opportunities for catharsis during the past few weeks....' by David Talbot - Salon.com - U2 elevate New York. This night Edge wears "Born-free/eagle" shirt.

Vertigo includes a bit of Patti Smith's 'Rock and Roll Nigger', and bad includes a bit of her 'Power to the People.' **** U2 pays tribute to Rosa Parks in Detroit: DETROIT, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- U2 paid tribute to the late Rosa Parks at its concert Tuesday outside Detroit, the civil rights pioneer's hometown. Playing at the Palace of Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit, U2 frontman Bono invoked Parks' name in "Pride (In The Name Of Love)" and "Where The Streets Have No Name." He then dedicated "One" to Parks, telling the 20,000-plus in attendance that "because of her quiet dignity and strength, America became a better, changed country." He added that the "journey of equality continues today. We will carry it on. God bless you in your rest." Parks made history in 1955 in Montgomery, Ala., when she refused to give up her seat on a public bus to a white man, as law dictated. She became the rallying point for a boycott that was one of the first successful demonstrations of the civil liberties movement. Parks died Monday at the age of 92 in Detroit, where she'd lived since 1957. Her funeral will take place November 2nd at the city's Greater Grace Temple church. upi. **** Excellent Edge and Larry during 'War' trilogy / 'Bad' - phenomenal closer!
"...their Detroit surprises, they did not disappoint. Deviating from the standard setlist, they delivered with "Gloria", Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses", Crumbs From Your Table", and "Bad". Bono seemed to be active on the catwalk and his voice was in fine form. 'People have the Power', sung U2's frontman Bono during the end of Tuesday's sold out show at the Palace. But it was the dynamic power of U2's music which carried the night. U2's swing through the Motor City did not disappoint as Bono remarked of the special relationship between the band and the fans in Detroit. U2 weaved old and new in a fast paced 2 hour show with some pleasant surprises from the standard setlist: 'Gloria', 'Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses' (acoustic) and 'Bad'. And Bono showed the goodwill ambassador he is with several references to Rosa Parks, the Civil Rights Pioneer from Detroit who passed away Tuesday. His dedication of the song 'One' was well received by the 20,000 fans in attendance. U2 is like a fine wine that improves with time and ages gracefully. After 25 years on the concert circuit, U2 showed why they are the top band in the land. - Highlights: Vertigo, truly an awesome rocker which sounds even better in concert. This song will be a permanent addition to their setlist for future tours....War Trilogy, Love & Peace, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bullet - Excellent, showcases the great skill of 'The Edge' & Larry Mullen....Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own - Bono's dedication to his father and his story about his father conducting music with his mother's knitting needles made it powerful. Bad - Phenomenal closer!" **** Photos on: U2-Vertigo-tour

Yoko to Bono: 'You are John's son' - October 25, 2005 - "Yoko came up to me when I was in my twenties, and she put her hand on me and she said, 'You are John's son.'" U2 rocker BONO was thrilled YOKO ONO saw her late husband JOHN LENNON in him.
