"War" tour - may 16, 1983. U2 perform in Buffalo, New York at Shea Center. The crowd is incredibly high strung, forcing Bono to stop several songs during the evening--sometimes to chastise security, and other times to ask the crowd to calm down a little bit. Bono: "There is never any trouble at a U2-concert!". Support is "Dream Syndicate".

"The Joshua Tree" tour - may 16, 1987 - East Rutherford - NJ - Brenden Byrne Arena. U2 concludes the first leg of their North American tour to support The Joshua Tree with the last of 5 shows at the Meadowlands. This first leg of the tour is a 99 percent sellout, with only Las Vegas (April 12) not selling out. Support is Lone Justice.

"ZOOTV" tour - may 16, 1992. U2 perform in Barcelona, Spain at the Palau Sant Jordi. The first nights concert is marred by a strange sequence of events. The leftmost side of seats in front of the stage are reserved from Alison Hewson, Ann, Aislinn and other VIPs and guests. The Spanish crowd ignore the reserved signs and tape and pour into the area. Security intervenes just as the lights dim and the show starts. It is apparent from the crowd's reaction that the majority have not heard about ZooTV, and are completely speechless upon their first glimpse of the new U2. During the B-stage set, a large amount of water rains down on Bono, who turns angrily and walks over to confront the individual. Bono grabs the audience member's can and throws it angrily on the ground. Bono walks over to the audience expecting to find sympathy, but instead finds people screaming his name. Realizing that the crowd is getting out of hand, the band cut the performance short by two songs. Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

"POPMart tour - may 16, 1997 U2 perform in Memphis, Tennessee - Memorial Stadium. Rage Against the Machine. Edge´s karaoke this night: Daydream Believer.

"Elevation" tour - may 16, 2001 / Chicago, IL - United Center - PJ Harvey. U2 rearranges the song order substantially for the last of four nights in Chicago, and they play 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' for the first time this tour. Edge wears red shirt#7 this night.

"Bono launches The One Campaign" - may 16, 2004. Bono helps launch DATA's newest initiative today outside Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Called "The One Campaign", the initiative aims to rally Americans to fight global AIDS and extreme poverty. A crowd of about 4,000 are on hand and they hear music, dance, prayer and speeches by a diverse group of activists, including NBA star Dikembe Mutombo, Grammy-winning Christian musician Michael W. Smith. Near the end of the event, Bono recalls the Zoo TV era by calling Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter from the podium, but only gets through to the Senator's answering machine. "Hello, Senator Specter? This is Bono, and I'm here with a few thousand friends and we need to talk to you."
