MAY 5: A successful night / Performing Rights Society / Aung San Suu Kyi freed from house arrest / Bono hangs with DeNiro in Dublin / Bono at Music Hall in Dallas!

"War" tour - may 5, 1983. U2 perform in Boston, Massachusetts at the Orpheum Theater. The first night is "successful", as Bono explained to a reporter backstage.

"U2 drop their..." - may 5, 1998. U2 drop their suit against the Performing Rights Society, which alleged the Society was deducting too much money and holding up payments.

"Aung San Suu Kyi freed from house arrest" - may 5, 2002. Aung San Suu Kyi, the political prisoner to whom Bono dedicated the song "Walk On", is freed after 19 months of house arrest in Myanmar. Suu Kyi, the leader of the pro-democracy movement, vows to continue her struggle to bring democracy to the country. Suu Kyi, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991, was also honored with the Freedom of Dublin on the same day U2 received the honor on March 18, 200.

"Bono hangs with DeNiro in Dublin" - may 5, 2003. Bono and Robert DeNiro are spotted together in Dublin after reportedly spending the day together. Irish media speculates the two may be discussing some future project.
