MAY 2 - Bono laments that he misses home during the concert / Bono starts "Springhill Mining Disaster" and is forced to stop to calm down the crowd / Naomi confirms engagement to Adam.

"Boy" tour - may 2, 1981. U2 perform in Gainsville, Florida at the Ratheskeller, University of Florida.

"The Unforgettable Fire" tour - may 2, 1985. U2 perform in Tampa, Florida at the University of South Florida Sun Dome. Bono laments that he misses home during the concert, "We've been away for so long I think we're forgetting what home looks like! We get so used to this...this is the most familiar part of our day, you know. Every night, when your're travelling and going from city to city. It's THIS: this stage becomes our living room, this becomes our bedroom!" Support is "Red Rockers".

"The Joshua Tree" tour - may 2, 1987. U2 perform in Worcester, Massachusetts at the Centrum. The first night's crowd is extremely rowdy and Bono admonishes them several times about their behaviour. "You, in Boston and all around this area, have seen so many Irish people have come over across the Atlantic ocean, these Irish immigrants, the brought with the old Irish folk songs which soon became old American folks songs..." Bono starts "Springhill Mining Disaster" and is forced to stop to calm down the crowd. Support is "Lone Justice".

"Naomi confirms engagement to Adam" - may 2, 1993. British supermodel Naomi Campbell confirms on Irish television that she is engaged to Adam Clayton. The engagement would break off before the two are married.
