"11 O´Clock Tick Tock" tour - may 29, 1980. U2 perform in Birmingham, England at the Cedar Ballroom. During the show Bono jumps into the crowd for what is likely the first time in the band's young career. It's a physical attempt to make contact with the crowd, an action that would continue through the band's early years and eventually strain several live shows to the point of being dangerous.

"Boy" tour - may 29, 1981. U2 share a bill with "The Teardrop Explodes" and perform in New York City, New York at the Palladium. Someone throws a box of live mice on the stage(referring to the Dublin band "Boomtown Rats"), some of which die instantly. The 3,400 people who show up for the concert are part of U2's largest crowd ever. Bono sings part of "New York, New York" during "Electric Co.". During the encore, U2 welcome well-known bassist Busta Jones on stage who had worked with "Talking Heads".

"The Joshua Tree" tour - may 29, 1987. U2 perform in Modena, Italy at the Stadio Comunale Braglia in front of a sold-out crowds of 40,000. During "People Get Ready", The Edge plays bass, and Bono tells the crowd that he has never done that before. Bono pulls up a fan to play guitar--Bono is unimpressed, "God have mercey, you're a hopeless guitar player! You even make me feel better, you son of a bitch..." Support is "Lone Justice", "Big Audio Dynamite", and "The Pretenders".

"ZOOTV" tour - may 29, 1992. U2 perform in Frankfurt, Germany at the Festhalle. U2's DJ gets and makes his most memorable entrance yet. The PA system booms "Ladies and Gentlemen, would you please welcome the craziest, zaniest, laziest man in show business. The most beautiful, the most gorgeous, the most sexy, and all the way from Dublin, Ireland, Mister Ramalama, King Boogaloo, the High Priest of Happiness, the man who likes to party but is always tardy...Ladies and Gentlemen, B.P. Fallon!" Wearing a bat-cape, B.P. makes his entrance, first flying with his hands in front of himself, and then with his hands held over his head, clasped in triumph. "Guten abend, wie geht's? Sehr gut? Yeah...? Okay...meine name ist B.P. Fallon, and before U2 auf der Buhne kommt, werde ich etwas fur euch spielen. I'd like to welcome you to a night of trash and Las Vegas flash, and sex and sould and magic and mystery!" He spins "The Beatles"' German version of "She Loves You", and then announces, "I just want to actually say something about sex, you know. I'll try and say it in German: 'Ich musste etwas uber Sex sagen. Sex ist sehr fantastich, aber jetzt im Jahren '90, es ist anders. So if you're having wild, funky, dirty sex, or you're making beautiful, soft, tender love, what you've got to do when du machts Liebe, you've got to use a condom. Gebrauch ein Kondome!" That night, Bono dedicates "Sattelite of Love" to German band "Kraftwerk". Again, Bono is tired and during the night's performance of "Desire", leaves out a large portion of the song and allows The Edge to take over. Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

"ZOOTV - Zooropa" tour - may 29, 1993. U2 perform in Werchter, Belgium at the Festival Grounds.

"Jeff Buckley" - may 29, 1997 Singer/Performer Jeff Buckley disappears while swimming off of Mud Island in the Mississippi River. His body is recovered in the river six days later. No drugs or alcohol are found in his system--the drowning is a freak accident. In the next few months, Bono dedicates several.

"Bono addresses African banking conference" - may 29, 2002. As his 4-nation tour of Africa with U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill winds down, Bono puts on a suit and tie to address the African Development Bank's (ADB) annual conference. Bono uses his speech to call on more aid from the U.S. and Europe as a way to help eradicate poverty across Africa.
