JULY 19: Radar Love / Kilkenny / Bono sings in Johannesburg!
"POPMart" tour - july 19, 1997 - Rotterdam - Netherlands - Feyenoord Stadium. Edge went on for the 'surprise' of the night - his karaoke version of Dutch band the Golden Earring's 'Radar Love'. Lyrics weren't important for this one - and the track was stopped halfway when the drumsolo kicks in. 'There are no drumsolo's in U2 concerts,' he said, 'I'll take you to Miami.'
"Kilkenny out of U2's financial picture" - july 19, 1998. Paul McGuinness confirms that Ossie Kilkenny will no longer handle U2's accounting. Sources tell the media the dispute stems from several bad investments during the band's 20-year history.
"Bono sings for Mandela with The Corrs" - july 19, 2003. Bono joins The Corrs to sing "When the Stars Go Blue" at a birthday celebration in Johannesburg, South Africa, for Nelson Mandela.
