Adam was at the opening of U2&I in Berlin - July 6, 2005 - The opening of Anton Corbijn's "U2 & I" exhibition in Berlin, an exhibition featuring only pictures of U2. Wim Wenders held the laudation. There were lots of people there including around 20 photographers and a few TV teams. From the way the crowd reacted when Corbijn finally arrived, you could get the impression that it was Bono himself who was making his way through the crowd. He had to write lots of autographs and smiled into all cameras. In his laudation, Wim Wenders made up a funny story about how Anton Corbijn and U2 got together. He said that Corbijn had wanted to become famous and that he had written a couple of songs and looked for a band to sing them. So he found four Irish guys and gave two of them nicknames (Bono Vox and The Edge) whereas the other two were allowed to keep their names. He also said that the band is dependent on him and that it's he who gets all the money. On a more serious note, Wenders described his own experience of being photographed by Corbijn. He said that when you are in front of his camera, you feel portrayed very well and that he looks at you in a very gentle way, so you end up doing everything he wants you to do. Corbijn himself held only a short speech, saying that he feels a bit uncomfortable in this situation. He talked about the exhibition being the first one that only deals with one band. Furthermore, he thanked Wim Wenders for his laudation and said that he hadn't realized that his secret was so well-known. Overall, he seemed to enjoy himself and obviously had lots of fun taking pictures of the people photographing him. With Anton and Wim In Berlin = Adam was at the opening of 'U2&I', Anton Corbijn's photo exhibition, in Berlin the night before last.Anton's heavyweight book (weighs a ton) is the definitive photo document of his twenty two year collaboration with the band. The latest stop of the accompanying exhibition is at the Cultural Forum for Photography in Berlin. Another old friend of the band, film director Wim Wenders, was also in town to open the exhibition....(Afterwards, by the way, U2.com hear Adam headed to the Postbahnhoff to catch The Killers who were playing.)

Adam Clayton was at Hyde Park backstage to see The Who - July 6, 2006 - Liverpool - Pete Townshend wrote in his blog: 'Amazing crowd last night. Warm and loud. I think Roger suddenly seemed at ease, and he sang with real force and vivacity. The band were great. ... At Hyde Park backstage were Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Adam Clayton and all three of my children.'
