"I should tell youbefore we go any further that Cardiff Arms Park means a lot to an Irishman, but it means even more to a Welshman like The Edge," Bono says to the crowd, "Edge's old man always said, 'One day my boy will play Cardiff Arms Park.' But he didn't mean rock & roll. He meant rugby football! So Edge is going to play rugby football at Cardiff Arms Park," at which point The Edge winds up and kicks a football into the crowd. "Just as well as he plays electric guitar," Bono comments. Support is "The Silencers", "The Alarm", and "The Pretenders".

"Bono writes for the Boston Globe" - july 25, 2004. As the Democratic Party National Convention begins in Boston, Bono writes an op-ed piece for today's Boston Globe newspaper. He promises to attend both party conventions (the Republican convention is a month away) to make sure the AIDS crisis in Africa is on the agenda for both parties. He writes that he plans to listen and to talk. "Because when I last looked I couldn't find the biggest global challenge, AIDS and the extreme poverty in which it thrives, on the schedules."

'How Can We End Poverty?' - July 25, 2006 - That's the question Bono addresses on a video shot recently by Phil Joanou in Arusha, Tanzania. 'Make Poverty History! What was that ? A T-shirt?' A year after the G8 leaders met in Scotland, pledging huge steps to end extreme poverty, Bono asks what difference campaigners are making for the everyday life of people in the poorest countries. From millions of children now in school, millions being protected from the killer-disease malaria to a dramatic increase in the availability of anti-retroviral drugs for those living with HIV/AIDS... campaigners, he says, are creating real change for the good. 'We have the power to change the world if we work together,' says Bono, in this passionate clip here. DATA. Source: U2.com
