July 23 1993 U2 perform in Budapest, Hungary at Nep Stadion. U2 play a show in Budapest, Hungary, their first-ever in a former Eastern Bloc country.

U2 is also announced as a performer for the awards, set for September 6 in New York.

51st 'VERTIGO' show - july 23, 2005 - Rome, Stadio Olimpico. 'Miss Sarajevo' to the innocent victms in Egypt / a man during 'Elevation' / a girl during 'WOWY'! The band seem more relaxed now that filming is over. I will follow: Bono spots inflatable bottle in the audience, but realises it has got Heineken advertising on it. He says: "I don't think they need any more advertising... We want to advertise love! We want to advertise soul! Imagination!" At the start of Elevation, a man gets up on stage, talks to Bono and then speaks to the crowd. Bono says in English: "Tonight, Ireland and Italy are getting married!" Miss Sarajevo is dedicated to "all the families, all the lives destroyed, broken by what happened today in Egypt". During WOWY, a girl gets up on stage She wipes Bono's sweaty forehead with a hairband or piece of cloth. "This concert was amazing!!! I thank God that I was there yesterday night, it gave me different emotions, incredible emotions..." and Bono tlked, also, about John Paul II.
